for Office? Then give Open Office a try. A free suite of programs that is sure
to impress.
Second Life
A virtual online world that is so huge, you could never explore it all. It
growing too fast for that. It has everything from church campuses to dance
clubs. There are games shows, botanical gardens and ski resorts. Universities
are using SL for online training and many different worlds can be found there
from old west to Star Wars to CSI. SL has it's own currency called linden
dollars which fluctuate in value and can be exchanged for real currency. Linden
Labs created the world and virtually everything else has been created by the
users. Although there are many many freebies in SL there is also much for sale.
People are creating and selling things (buildings, furniture, clothing, etc.) in
a virtual world and earning real money. It cost nothing to be a resident of SL
and enjoy almost all the features. It's not until you get into virtual land
renting or buying that money becomes necessary. I could go on and on, but you
